Winning the Battle Against the Enemy

Everyone of us has a flaw, a disadvantage that the devil likes to use against us. In order to win the battle against the devil we must first know what type of battle we are in.

Are you fighting a battle of addiction? Are you fighting a battle of envy and jealousy? Are you fighting a battle of fear? First, ask yourself what is the battle you are in.

Secondly, you must know how how to fight the battle; the weapons you need to bring to this fight so that you can conquer this battle. Ephesians 6:10-18 tells us

“And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.

Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.”

Being prepared for what the devil is going to bring to the fight is important. If you are battling with envy and jealousy, you know that the devil is going to place people around you so that you will be tempted to be envious and jealous. He’ll pick and point out the things they have that you don’t. You need to know this so that you can bring your strength, faith, peace and God’s love to the battle to help you through.

Whatever it is that you are battling, accept that this is a battlefield for you. Acknowledge that. I do not mean settle. Do not settle for anything that is bringing you down or not allowing you to progress as a person. But do not walk around in denial thinking you are not suffering. Admit that you need help in this area and then take action.

Dress yourself daily in the things you need to see yourself through that battle. To dress yourself, you pray, you read your word and you have faith. Tell yourself that today I will be peaceful. Today I will not fear. Today I will not allow this thing to have a hold on me. Today I’m going to place my concerns with God. He will see me through. There’s nothing on this earth that will have such a strong hold over me. Believe it and receive it!

Read Ephesians 6:10-18 over and over again. It will help you. It will give you the stepping stone you need to win the battle!

God Bless!

I recommend The Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer. This book was a big eye opener for me. I know it will help you the same!
